Confidentiality is a fundamental principle in compliance with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) Professional Practice Standards and the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). All client information shared during sessions remains private and secure.
Disclosure is required when there is a risk of harm to the client or others, including suspected child abuse, elder abuse, or a court order.
If a client is at imminent risk of self-harm or harming another person, the therapist is legally required to notify emergency services or relevant authorities.
Information may be shared with clinical supervisors or colleagues for quality assurance while maintaining client anonymity.
Client records are maintained in secure electronic and/or physical formats, with access restricted to authorized personnel. Electronic communications are encrypted to protect client data.
Informed Consent Includes:
Clients are provided with a written consent form to review and sign during their first session. Any questions about therapy, confidentiality, or procedures are encouraged and addressed.
Sessions must be scheduled in advance through our online booking system or by direct contact.
Clients are responsible for selecting a suitable time and ensuring availability before booking.
Clients can not schedule within 12 hours of an appointment's start time.
Clients can schedule up to 12 months into the future.
When booking an appointment, you will be asked to provide a credit or debit card. This is a mandatory step to secure your booking and to cover any potential fees for missed appointments. Your card will not be charged until after the session.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. This allows me to offer the time slot to another client who may need it.
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed sessions without prior notice, will be subject to a fee of $70 (50% of the session fee).
I understand that emergencies and unforeseen situations can occur. If something prevents you from attending your session, please contact me as soon as possible. I will review the situation on a case-by-case basis; however, please note that the cancellation fee may still apply.
I accept payment via credit card, debit card, or e-transfer.
If you choose to pay via e-transfer, please ensure that the payment is sent within one hour after your session. If the payment is not received within this time frame, the full session fee will be charged to your credit or debit card on file.
A $70 fee will apply if you miss your appointment or fail to cancel with at least 24 hours' notice.
Teletherapy services are conducted via secure and encrypted platforms to ensure privacy.
Teletherapy may not be suitable for all clients, and this will be discussed during the initial consultation.
